Burning Your Candle
Although it may seem as simple as lighting a match and creating a flame, there is a proper technique to burning a candle. In order to preserve and maintain a candle, start by burning it one hour for every inch of its diameter the first time you light it.
By allowing the wax to pool and extend to the outside rim, you prevent a “canyon” from forming and will train the candle to burn evenly each time. Make sure to trim the wick to one-quarter inch every time you light it and remove any wick debris. By taking a few extra steps and being aware of proper techniques, you will be able to enjoy your candle much longer.
